J’avais oublié d’en parler, mais dimanche 3 décembre et lundi 4 décembre avait lieu diverses manifestations de soutien aux initiatives de lutte pour la protection des droits de l’Homme à travers le pays, lutte qui semble bénéficier de nouveaux accords avec l’Union Européenne.
Bref, un MetalFest était organisé par l’Independant Music Network of Armenia en plein coeur d’Erevan, rassemblant MDP, Stryfe, Sworn, Vordan Karmir, Blood Covenant, Aramazd.

Si je connaissais déjà Sworn (je vous rappelle que vous pouvez écouter quelques extraits ici, mais leurs nouvelles chansons sont encore plus excitantes), et si le reste de l’affiche ne m’a pas plus enthousiasmé (le hard rock local manque pour certains groupes d’une créativité supplémentaire, autre que System of a Down je ne parle pas de Bambir là), et que le volume atrocement fort m’a fait quitté la salle avant la fin, j’ai profité de cette occasion pour découvrir Manic Depressive Psychosis, ou aussi MDP, une des figures emblématiques de la musique torturée Arménienne.
Musicalement MDP adopte une démarche originale, et se qualifie de ethno-metal-syntho-rock , avec des touches mélodiques traditionnelles.

I forgot to blog about it, but on dec. 3Th and 4th, several manifestations in support of Humam Rights Protection in Armenia (which apparently benefits from new partnerships with EU)

If i already knew Sworn (I remind you that MP3 are available here, and their new songs are even more exciting), the other bands were pretty dull and boring. It seems to me that most of armenian hardrock music stage is lacking of creativity, please stop listening to System of a Down. I’m not speaking about Bambir and MDP, right.
Indeed yes, it was the occasion for me to discover Manic Depressive Psychosis as known as MDP, one of the emblematic figures of armenian dark music.
Musically speaking, MDP is really original, and the members describe their music as de ethno-metal-syntho-rock, with traditional melodic elements.
