Bringing people together :)

August 30th, 2006 by Thomas

Heh, it’s been exactly one year since I registered on Hospitality Club, thanks to Morgane, Anne et Guillaume, really nice french people i met in Sziget festival
365 days, 1 wintercamp, 5000 kilometers by hitch hiking, and really nice meetings from Rouen, Paris, Riga, Yerevan with lovely people and weird nights after, the experience has been much more than wonderful. :)
For the ones who (still) don’t know about it, just check the website :

Our aim is to bring people together - hosts and guests, travelers and locals. Thousands of Hospitality Club members around the world help each other when they are traveling - be it with a roof for the night or a guided tour through town. Joining is free, takes just a minute and everyone is welcome. Members can look at each other’s profiles, send messages and post comments about their experience on the website.

The club is supported by volunteers who believe in one idea: by bringing travelers in touch with people in the place they visit, and by giving “locals” a chance to meet people from other cultures we can increase intercultural understanding and strengthen the peace on our planet.

For members, see you somewhere behind this screen, for the others, just register, it’s totally free but watchout, it’s a kind of addiction :)
And a special thanks to all the armenian (and others) members I met since 6 months here in Armenia. It’s been really a pleasure to spend time with you :)

Plusieurs personnes m’ont déjà demandé ce que j’ai pensé de ce film, sorti en France cet été avec une assez grosse couverture médiatique.

Elephant dream, the first "free" moviefrançaise

August 23rd, 2006 by Thomas

I guess this could interest some of this blog readers.
Elephants Dream is the first synthesis images movie entirely realized with open source tools, such as Blender. All the production works are under Creative Commons licence, so you can check them as you want.
All you’ll want to know is available (and especially the movie to download) on the project website. Subtitles are available here. If any armenian know where to find a quota-free DSL access to download it, let me know :)

Turn on your TV …française

August 22nd, 2006 by Thomas

Big sensation from NY. One of my favorite tunes theses days. Here is TV on the Radio, the song is Snakes & Martyrs. Their latest album, Return to Cookie Mountain (out this summer) is really classy. No real changes since the first one (Desperate Youth, Thirsty Babes), always very refreshing. Tell me what do you think about it.

Yet another "funny" cartoon ….

August 17th, 2006 by Thomas

Always from the french meta-newspaper Courrier International, much more serious than the Futurama one.

Let’s wait and see, hoping that this situation would end soon.

A mindless worker is a happy worker :)

August 17th, 2006 by Thomas

I’ve been watching 1 season and a half from the well known cartoon Futurama in less than three weeks. Watching squid Doctor Zoidberg dancing on the beach for seducing the lovely Edna was such a great moment.
Due the fact that I’m living in a former soviet republic, this picture took a special meaning for me :)

I’m thinking about designing some stickers or tshirts or anything else with it :)

If you armenian guys have ideas, let me know

Blogging Armenia

August 14th, 2006 by Thomas

A post (to be followed) about armenian blogosphere. Since this blog started, i almost entirely spoke about myself (my job, my settlement, etc etc). I’m going to change it, so my journal would be less boring i hope :). That’s why I’m going to post in english (posts will be available il both french and english, so my friends from Mourenx will be still able to understand my posts).

La blogosphère arménienne

August 14th, 2006 by Thomas
